The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation has authorised NCR JSC to manage and operate the state and municipal land plots in the Elbrus district of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic within the special economic zone of the Elbrus tourist recreation complex. A respective supplementary agreement was signed by Alexander Tsybulky, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, and Oleg Gorchev, the Director General of NCR JSC.
In Arkhyz Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of a tourism and recreational type (Karachay-Cherkess Republic) seven new residents will appear who are ready to invest 1.7 billion Rubles in construction of infrastructure facilities at the said resort. Their applications were approved by the Expert Council for Special Economic Zones, the RF Ministry of Economic Development at a meeting held today, March 23, in the city of Moscow. Thus, the total present declared investments made by all residents of Arkhyz ATRC amount to 5.6 billion Rubles.
The North Caucasus’ annual tourist flow potential is 10 million. This estimate was voiced by Mr. Alexey Konyushkov, Deputy Head of the RF Federal Tourism Agency, during the Roundtable “Caucasus - Birthplace of Hospitality” held as part of Intermarket-2016 International Tourist Exhibition with support of the RF Ministry of North Caucasus Affairs.
Russian Federation Government Resolution dated February 27, 2016 No. 148 approved the changes in the state program "Development of the North Caucasus Federal District" for the period up to 2025. In particular, changes in the subprogram "Development of the tourism cluster in the North Caucasus Federal District, Krasnodar Territory and Republic of Adygea".
