New residents of the tourism and recreation special economic zone in Karachay-Cherkess plan to build two hotel resorts in Arkhyz. Business plans of investors were considered at the meeting of the Expert Council for SEZ in the North Caucasus Federal District managed by Northern Caucasus Resorts JSC, which was held in the Ministry of the North Caucasus Affairs of the Russian Federation, under the chairmanship of Olga Rukhullaeva, Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for Northern Caucasus Affairs.
In accordance with the submitted business plans, companies intend to build two hotel resorts on the North-oriented slope of Arkhyz resort and in Lunnaya Polyana tourist village, with total capacity of more than 550 persons. Projects also provide for construction of restaurants, lounge and lobby bars, children’s game rooms, spa centers, mountain ski and sports gear rentals, and also a parking zone.
110 jobs shall be created during the projects implementation. The total amount of investment of the two new residents shall exceed RUB 537 million.
‘Development of infrastructure of mountain ski resorts of the tourism cluster in the region is one of the most important areas of our work. Given the growing demand for resorts among Russian and foreign tourists, it is important that the infrastructure projects to be implemented are performed with quality and within the established time frame, that is why we attentively supervise performance of all investor’s obligations at each work stage,’ Olga Rukhullaeva stressed when considering applications by potential investors.
Following the meeting, the decision was made to support the projects, provided that adjustments suggested by members of the Expert Council are made to the business plans and that the anticipated costs of construction of the facilities are updated.
Now, Arkhyz SEZ has 29 registered residents with the total declared investment of about RUB 11.15 billion.
