At the 23rd session of the Franco-Russian Council for Economic, Financial, Industrial and Commercial Cooperation (CEFIC), which was held in Moscow today, on December 19, there was signed the action plan (road map) to create French-Russian Joint Venture National Rope Ways within the implementation of the ropeway component localization project in Russia.

The document was signed by Odes Baysultanov, the First Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for North Caucasus Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Joint-Stock Company Northern Caucasus Resorts, and by Jean Souchal, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of POMA SAS. The signing of the document took place in the presence of Lev Kuznetsov, the Minister of the Russian Federation for North Caucasus Affairs, Maksim Oreshkin, the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, and Bruno Le Maire, the Minister of Economy and Finance of the French Republic.

‘Our joint venture is fully consistent with the logic of the priorities set by the President of the Russian Federation, to develop infrastructure and high technology, and to increase labor productivity. Undoubtedly, the action plan signed today will contribute to the successful development of the tourist cluster, create new jobs, improve the recreation quality of tourists whose number is growing every year’, Odes Baysultanov underlined.

‘I am very glad that we have spelled out an exact plan of cooperation of POMA with JSC NCR and JSC NCDC. We are confident that this is a true strategy for partnership in designing, manufacturing and assembling Russian ropeways, and in ensuring stable service and accessibility of lifts in the North Caucasus and throughout Russia’, Jean Souchal noted.

The document was signed in continued collaboration and cooperation between the parties, fixed on October 24 of the current year in the tripartite memorandum between JSC NCR, JSC NCDC and POMA SAS. The Road Map defines the sequence of actions in organizational-and-legal, technological and financial-and-economic spheres, aimed at setting up of a joint venture for ropeway components assembly in the North Caucasus Federal District.

In accordance with the action plan, the parties must define the final sites for the production of ropeway components, previewed within the visit of the Russian-French working group for regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in November this year. The parties also have to agree on the main technical parameters of the project, including a list of components to be manufactured within the joint venture, and the amount of funding needed to start production.

Presentation of the project of French-Russian Joint Venture National Rope Ways should be held within the Russian Investment Forum to take place on February 15-16, in Sochi.
