All-season tourist and recreational complex (ATRC) Arkhyz in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic won the National Sports Premium for 2018 established by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. It was recognized the best sports facility in nomination of Sports Facility of Russia. The high-profile award ceremony for award winners was held the day before in Moscow.
Award winners were defined in three stages. At the first stage, following all-Russian contests, Arkhyz ATRC made top three of contestants in the nomination Sports Facility of Russia, where there were also Legenda Sports Center with covered ice rink in Domodedovo. Moscow region, and Dinamo ice arena in Barnaul. At the second stage of the contest, the Northern Caucasus resort became one of the leaders of popular vote, and at the third, won following the vote of the expert council of the award.
Honored guests of the ceremony of the National Sports Award for 2018 were Igor Levitin, Aide to the President of Russia, Olga Golodets, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Pavel Kolobkov, Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin extended his greetings to participants, guests and organizers of the grand ceremony.
Khasan Timizhev, the Director General of Joint-Stock Company Northern Caucasus Resorts, who received the commemorative award, expressed his profound gratitude for support to the whole audience. He also thanked the Government of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Ministry of the North Caucasus Affairs of the Russian Federation and personally Odes Baysultanov, the First Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC NCR, and also Rashid Temrezov, Head of Karachay-Cherkess, for help in development of the resort. ‘Our common mission is to create conditions for development of sports in the country, both mass and professional. This is not just buzzwords, this is the major principle of work of the entire team of Northern Caucasus Resorts,’ he shared.
‘At Arkhyz regional and all-Russian competitions in mountain ski, snowboarding, mountain bike, charitable mountain ski classes are arranged for pupils. This is just the beginning: we plan to create multi-functional bases for high-altitude training of teams, build new sports facilities, apply for hosting international competitions,’ Khasan Timizhev told. ‘The today’s win is satisfactory evidence that we are moving in the right direction, and Northern Caucasus Resorts have likeminded people all over the country.
